SECO
SECO is a solo dance performance aimed at exploring the impact of climate change, migration, and sustainable politics on our basic needs and how they shape our culture. The project investigates and highlights the impacts of climate change on the human body through dance, movement, and performance. It delves into the relationship between water, a vital source of life, and its transformation into a source of pollution, mirroring the way modern needs and practices have affected our environment and our communities. Through dance, SECO creates a powerful and evocative experience that illustrates the complexities and challenges of our current socio-economic and political systems and their impact on our environment, our communities, and ourselves. The piece is a study of power dynamics and respect towards the planet, highlighting the ways in which power and privilege play a role in the climate crisis.
Through this work, Chaim Gebber challenges audiences to recognize the urgent need for action on climate change and to take responsibility for our collective future.
His previous works have explored themes of power and social justice, and he brings this same critical lens to SECO.
